The best thing about practicing illustrations is when you find out what no longer works for you and have to try new things to get a result you’re satisfied with.
How I used to layered to form the lips just doesn’t cut it anymore. While there are some other minor adjustments, adjusting the mouth made a huge difference to me.

After a couple of sketches, thought I’d go for a more realistic Cammy in a static pose. I wanted to try a more stoic image of the character as they’re a bit rarer.
I hope to have a further progressed image later in the week and ideally finish it by next weekend.

My goal is to finish an illustration I can put on my 360 Tournament Stick. As the buttons can obscure a lot of the image I’m trying to rely on a standing pose I can place on the left hand side of the surface. After doing a few sketches I think I’ll either focus on Chun-Li or Cammy (and will post as I get closer to a final pose and begin working on the final illustration).
