An entry for a contest. It gave me an excuse to illustrate Indy while trying out the methodology (not the right word but the closest one I can think of at the moment) Andrew Jones uses.
Lot of fun to try.

Morgan LeFlay Rough
Currently working on an illustration on the “Tales of Monkey Island” character Morgan LeFlay. I’m working in a really rough manner to try and get the lighting and color where I’m content with it before doing a more finished render. I generally zoom out (seen below) to see if it works in a small scale. If it doesn’t work there, it likely won’t work when it’s larger.
Hoping to get a more polish iteration out later this week.

These were created with SketchBook Mobile on the iPhone. I haven’t really had a chance to play with the coloring but initial impressions with just sketching are really positive. I think it’s going for 3 bucks and might be worth your money if you’re looking to sketch on the go.

Honestly I can’t find the words to describe how stunning these images are. There is some work to go through the pages and comments but well worth your time.

Varient on the image where Phoebe is pulling gunk off her shoe. Please click for full sized image.
While both images came about the same time, the focus being her not paying attention to the monster in her immediate vicinity, the shoe image I felt was stronger as it had more personality behind it. I needed to get the remaining image out in some recognizable form hence this quick sketch.
I think I’m going to post when new ‘worthwhile’ drawings are up on my Twitter as well. Even if the friends and colleagues response is a small fraction of what I received on my latest Hollie image, it should help me improve along the way.
