My initial attempt of the background was to create a star field that was moving vertically. The green color was intended to match the character. Instead, both of these gave the appearance of a thick wispy forest. I tried creating a new star field that, I hope, appear more realistic.
The dark portions and the green of the uniform were lighted differently to give the appearance that the Green Lantern uniform consists of a variety of materials, rather then a single piece spandex suit.
Soranik was difficult as she’s suppose to have red alien skin. Making it more difficult to show coloration on the lips, nose, cheeks, eyebrows, and ears where blood pools more.
