Testing out some changes to my workflow. See what works, what doesn’t work.

My initial attempt of the background was to create a star field that was moving vertically. The green color was intended to match the character. Instead, both of these gave the appearance of a thick wispy forest. I tried creating a new star field that, I hope, appear more realistic.
The dark portions and the green of the uniform were lighted differently to give the appearance that the Green Lantern uniform consists of a variety of materials, rather then a single piece spandex suit.
Soranik was difficult as she’s suppose to have red alien skin. Making it more difficult to show coloration on the lips, nose, cheeks, eyebrows, and ears where blood pools more.

New Soranik Natu illustration (really unsatified with my iPhone attempt). Gonna try and color it by this weekend.
On an unrelated note, got a Deviant Art account on Sunday. The intent is to allow the tumblr page to have more variety as my illustrations can be viewed there as well.
