I really wish I had more to say then I thought it was a really fun popcorn flick. And - it seems the idealization of my psyche likes to dress like Carl Sagan.

This is the supposed direction the new Mortal Kombat movie is taking. According to CHUD, this is more than likely a legit demo/proof of concept to get funding and a greenlight. Personally, I’m all for this and hope it gets made. I like the “realistic” spin they put on the characters, which makes me wonder if the next game will follow a similar track.

Bottom line: This is fucking cool and you should watch it.

If this is a go, I will be at that theater day one.

tazar: The concept for Captain America’s outfit for the movie is really good. They got rid of the stupid wings on his head, which I’ve never liked, and it’s a good combination of superhero/WW2 soldier. But I still can’t forgive them for not casting Jon Hamm as Steve Rogers. That should have been first and last choice from the beginning. via I really like it. Definitely seems to take some visual cues from the Ultimates series. And I really like how the red is from the straps rather then colored portions of the lower part of the shirt. Then again, I’m not terribly unbiased when it comes to Cap.
